National Organization for Marriage is spending $1.5 million in fighting to make sure that gay marriage does not become legal in NJ. They are broadcasting commercials throughout the state advocating an anti-gay marriage position. Do these people have nothing better to do than persecute other people in the name of "protecting families"? These kinds of campaigns prevent families from being built. But of course these aren't the kind of families that they approve of. But then who are they to tell us what a family should and should not consist of? Do they get their ideas from the bible or other religious text (Freedom from religion is an important civil liberty)? Or perhaps just ignorance of what it means to be gay? I have yet to hear of a valid argument as to any reason why two people of any sex who love each other should not be able to get married. Having come from a broken family myself it is hard for me to understand how a heterosexual marriage is so inherently better than a gay marriage.
Feel free to try to convince me otherwise.
