Another Threat to the First Amendment
The Township Committee in Neptune NJ is actually planing to consider disscussing whether or not to ban gay pride flags from being displayed on the lawn of private residences. Certain members of the Shark River Hills property owner's association brought their disapproval to the Township with the intent of forcing the owners of the properties to have their flags removed. This may set a dangerous precedence that towns may gain the ability to suppress an individuals right to express there sexual, political or religious beliefs and orientations on their own property. This is a small example of a growing willingness by NJ government as a whole to censor freedom of speech and first amendment rights.
